Mon travail de 3 mois à New York

December 1st, 2008

Dear Sir/Madam:

This is a recommendation letter for Ms. Michelle Amram. She wishes to pursue her art studies in the United States and particularly to attend my art classes at the Art Students League of New York.

Ms. Amram is an exceptional artist. I am certain she will contribute to the growth and shape of contemporary art of our time. Through her experience and study plans in New York, we will benefit from the depth and intensity of her work the way she will gain from our diverse art forms. Ms. Amram’s work is universal and reflects a significant link to arts across cultures: it evokes continuity and process, time and timelessness, innocence and knowledge, personal stories and cultural histories, celebration and tribulation, and the transcendence of things physical. As a mixed media artist, she employs traditional and contemporary materials as well as unique working processes that suggest or inform us of her aesthetic and ideological concerns. In the realm of unlimited possibilities, her appetite for innovation is insatiable and her degree of seriousness is of the highest order.

As a referee, my professional art practice spans thirty years of solo and group exhibitions and ten years of teaching at the historic Art Students League of New York. I have been recipient of many prestigious awards, grants, and fellowships in the US, Canada, and Asia. In addition, I am an independent art curator and writer who lives and works in New York.

Ms. Amram is intelligent and possesses one of the warmest personalities I have come in contact with. She is intense, personable, hard working, respectful, compassionate, and relates to people in a very engaging manner. Please do not hesitate to call or contact me if you have any more questions at (718) 781-6586 or at my e-mail address: marianodelrosario@gmail.com.

Thank you very much for your kind consideration on her behalf.

Sincerely,

Mariano Del Rosario
